Ipek Kosova
lives in Brooklyn, NY and Istanbul, Turkey
I am an interdisciplinary artist with background in glass art, architecture and architectural history. I create multimedia and interactive installations with concrete, metal, glass, light, sound and makeshift materials (dropcloths, bubblewrap, etc.). I make spaces by juxtapositioning and dislocating these materials and the structures of which they were once made. I'm interested in the theresholds and dichotomies between the material and immaterial, invisible and visible, ephemeral and permanent, placed and displaced.
